You may remember Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker from his cowardly and sneaky women’s rights stripping last week. But did you know that before he was limiting sex ed and repealing pay equity laws, he was rolling back laws that gave same sex couples the right to visit each other in the hospital? What could this move possibly do to improve Wisconsin’s economic prospects? Why seek to make it extra hard to visit a family member who is sick? Doesn’t it kind of seem like he’s just being a dick on purpose?
Just last week, on the eve of a holiday weekend, the jerk of the north signed into laws limiting abortion, repealing the state’s equal pay law, and weakening sex education all cowardly-like, with nary a peep to the public. But he’s been leading the gubernatorial Race to Act Like A Huge Jerk for awhile with this cruel, hateful move to limit family hospital visits.
In order to understand the full magnitude of dickery inherent in Walker’s actions, we have to rewind to the year 2006, when the state of Wisconsin amended its constitution to bar gay marriage or other similar arrangement between same-sex couples because, I don’t know, Protecting Marriage from the Glittery Menace of Gays or something stupid. Because of this, same sex couples in the state weren’t allowed any of the rights of married couples, even the ones you’d have to be a heartless bastard to deny, like hospital visitation rights. To remedy this, in 2009, the then-Democratic controlled state legislature passed a law granting same-sex couples the right to register with their respective county clerks in order to legally secure their right to visit their partner in the hospital. Of course, haters, as they are wont to do, began hating almost immediately and sued the state for what they said was a violation of the 2006 state constitutional amendment. At the time of the complaint, a Republican Attorney General refused to defend the State of Wisconsin, saying that the jerk protesters had a point and that the visitation rights law was indeed unconstitutional, and so a private attorney was hired to defend the case.

Women orgasm more quickly and more often with handsome partners, according to research carried out by anthropologists and psychologists.
Noting that “supporting evidence indicates that female orgasm promotes conception,” the researchers concluded that the female orgasm is linked to the urge to produce “quality” offspring.
The study, which was carried out at Pennsylvania State University, focused on the sex lives of 110 heterosexual couples, who reported who orgasmed and how often.
The male subjects were rated for “objectively-measured facial masculinity, observer-rated facial masculinity, partner-rated masculinity, and partner-rated dominance”; observers, as well as the men themselves, were also asked to rated their own attractiveness.
Women whose partners rated as masculine and dominant reported more frequent and earlier-timed orgasms than those whose partners rated less well. The women whose partners were deemed attractive also orgasmed more often during or after male ejaculation.
Frequency of female orgasm as a result of masturbation was not predicted by the male partner’s attractiveness.
“Thus, possible conception-promoting correlates of female orgasm may be especially effective and/or likely when copulation occurs with masculine males,” the authors wrote in the study, published in the journal Evolution and Human Behaviour. “These results appear to support a role for female orgasm in sire choice.”

Mel Gibson has at least one ally in the LGBT community: his adopted brother Andrew Gibson.
In an interview with the Sunday Times of Australia, Gibson, 43, says he doesn’t believe the taped conversations of his brother using abusive, homophobic and racist language are really him.
“When I heard them I just thought, ‘that isn’t Mel,’” Gibson said. “He has never said anything abusive, aggressive or racist in his life. I just had to turn the TV off and turn it to the wall for two weeks so I didn’t have to listen. The rest of the family did the same.”
Gibson also defended remarks his brother made during an interview in 1991, when the actor referred to not wanting to “take it up the arse.”
“He’s a straight man and he was illustrating that fact,” Gibson said. “In the same way a gay man wouldn’t want to have sex with a woman. He never meant to upset anyone. I have never once heard anything anti-gay come out of his mouth.”
After coming out, Gibson, who lives in Sydney, says he struggled with how Mel and his other family members perceived him.
“It was a struggle and it took a long time,” Gibson said. “Even after 10 years when I came back to the family for a while, I still didn’t feel it was right. It has only really been in the last 12 months that we have really built up contact again.”
Mel Gibson’s soon-to-be ex-wife Robyn could get half of his $1 billion fortune in their divorce settlement. Andrew says he is “incredibly sad” about the split.
