Well, since everything they have said from the start has been a lie, I do not even believe they are lesbians now. Real lesbians would not be so stupid enough to lie about homophobia, an event that does happens in NZ bars everyday, and by laying a false complaint they lessen real complaints and unsafe environments for REAL gay people. Real lesbians would not have been convinced by UNI Q head Genevieve Fowler they could get away with lies that were easily going to be proven as lies as soon as CCTV footage was shown. Real lesbians would not have needed attention, like squealing babies, as real lesbians come from happy homes and were given enough love so they do not lie to get attention as adults. THEY NEED TO APOLOGIZE AND REVEAL WHY THEY LIED FROM THE START AND WHAT THEY WERE TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH…..NOW!!!!

CCTV footage viewed by The Dominion Post showed they were being affectionate before being asked to leave.
Public owner Gina Mills allowed The Dominion Post to view CCTV footage of the couple’s movements early on Sunday morning. Mills had earlier said no CCTV footage existed.
The footage showed Leadbeater buying a glass of wine at 2.31am, before being approached by a young man.
The two chatted for a minute before Galbraith approached and put her arm around Leadbeater and kissed her on the cheek.
A doorman is seen walking through the area twice while the couple is at the bar, and does not stop or look closely at Leadbeater or Galbraith.
The couple remained at the bar kissing each other affectionately and hugging, before moving to a corner of the bar out of view of security cameras.
At 2.55am a doorman approached the couple in the corner and asked them to leave, with the pair exiting the bar quickly. Galbraith is seen questioning the doorman on the street, then Leadbeater goes back into the bar to retrieve a cardigan she left behind.
Mills maintains the pair were behaving in an inappropriate manner in the corner of the bar, and said any couple acting in such a way would also be asked to tone down their behaviour.

Gods, I am tired of MSM getting non-stories off social media and making them into a big deal as if ‘kissing in straight bars’ is actually an important issue facing gay people???? So some angry girls posted on Public’s Facebook page saying they were kicked out for pashing, complained and somehow this has become a ‘story that needs telling’.

Who to believe? Does it really, actually matter? This seems to be a 2 second piece of shit incident that happens in bars every night around the country. Attaching the ‘anti-gay complaint’ seems to have got the MSM talking about it, but is this an issue that needs addressing? Is this the biggest issue facing gay youth in this country? Why has this become the ‘story de jour’?
Whilst gay men are still getting murdered, whilst the Transexual community have to fight for any right, especially legal recognition. Whilst gay, bisexual, lesbian and transexual youth are killing themselves in such huge numbers in new zealand, is this story a ‘fight needed’?
BUT THE REAL QUESTION IS WHAT IS HOPED TO BE ACHIEVED BY ATTACKING ‘PUBLIC’ BAR? SO GAY PEOPLE WILL BE ABLE TO PASH IN TACKY BARS? THAT PUBLIC DISPLAYS OF AFFECTION BY GAY PEOPLE WILL INCREASE AND THIS WILL STOP SUICIDE? THAT GAY PEOPLE KISSING IN PUBLIC WILL END GAY MEN BEING MURDERED AND ‘THE GAY PANIC’ DEFENSE BEING USED?
WHILE THIS CAMPAIGN SEEMS FOCUSED ON ONE MANS ACTIONS IN ONE BAR, I REFUSE TO SUPPORT IT, AS IT HAS NO FOCUS AND WILL ACHIEVE WHAT?

UniQ sent out this gem of an email yesterday: “Hey there beautiful people! … Just sending out a quick email to let everyone know that this week is our annual ~PRIDE WEEK~ (sorry about the short notice!)”. That’s right, they announced Pride Week the day it began. Smooth.
On top of that, the events can only be described as lazy. The festival, usually a one or two week celebration of all things GLBT, has been reduced to three gay bar events (one is already a weekly event that would happen regardless), a probably illegal film screening (you do realise it’s illegal to chuck on a DVD for a ‘screening’?), and a chat with Mani Mitchell (which actually sounds pretty interesting, but in all reality is just the hijacking and rebranding of another group’s regular event that, too, would happen regardless).
Wow.
No adequate lead-in time to generate buzz. No feature in Salient (the university magazine). No gay media coverage (we scrambled to do a story on the Traffic Light Party after learning about it yesterday). So what exactly are they trying to achieve?
