Wesley Snipes Doing ‘Legal Stuff’ To Stay Out Of Prison…..I Think.

moviechitchat.com

To be honest, I am not really sure what this shit means, except he does not have to surrender himself to finally do the jail time he was sentenced to two years ago for massive tax evasion. I think…

An appellate court upheld Snipes’ conviction and sentence last month, but on Aug. 5, U.S. District Court Judge William Terrell Hodges gave Snipes’ camp 20 days to file a motion for a new trial, after which prosecutors would have 20 days to respond.

Hodges also said at the time that he would refrain from ruling on any motions from either side, such as one to revoke Snipes’ bond (prosecution) and another for permission to question trial jurors about any preexisting bias (defense).

Today, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida ruled that all of the pending motions preempted the prison sentence for now and no new surrender date was set.
Can anyone explain that? In English please….

Chris Tucker Owes $11 Million To IRS!

Shit. Here is how it breaks down. The Internal Revenue Service filed documents with the L.A. County Recorder’s Office yesterday, which show Tucker owes $11,571,909.26 in federal taxes for the years 2001, 2002 and 2004 through 2006.

2001 — $4,007,794.34
2002 — $5,060,074.23
2004 — $55,544.84
2005 — $660,414.94
2006 — $1,788,080.91

But this isn’t Tucker’s first issue with taxes — as we previously reported, the State of California filed a lien against Tucker for allegedly not paying $3,594,409 in state taxes over the same time span.

FYI — Back in 2001, Tucker reportedly took in a $20 million payday for “Rush Hour 2″ and scored $25 million for “Rush Hour 3″ … which hit theaters in 2007.

So far, no word from Chris’ people on the tax situation.

Wesley Snipes To Serve 3 Years In Prison.

…for tax evasion. The actor’s appeal to serve jail time has been denied by a federal appeals court.

Snipes was found guilty in 2008 of not filing tax returns from 1999 to 2001 and failed to pay the government nearly $12 million. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison.

However, Wesley thought that his sentence was “unreasonable” and took the case to appeals court.

Unfortunately for him, the judge backed the original court ruling and shot down his claims that his sentencing was too severe.

So, looks like Wesley will be serving some hard time behind bars, but no word yet on when he is to report to jail.

Well, at least he knows about 4 martial arts and can take care of himself.
