officiallifebydesign.com

14-year-old Kenneth James Weishuhn of Primghar, Iowa, committed suicide on Saturday night and was found dead on Sunday. (A funeral announcement seems to confirm the story.) Details are sketchy at this point, but James had been bullied regularly since he came out at school several months ago.

Dharun Ravi Found Guilty of Some Counts in Tyler Clementi Suicide Case.

I very much hope he gets a small sentence. Tyler made a choice to kill himself. To believe it happened because of the webcam incident only is childish. The man had mental health issues and chose to top himself. Blame will not bring him back.

The trial has ended in the cyber-bullying case of 20-year-old former Rutgers student Dharun Ravi, who was accused of spying and intimidating his roommate, Tyler Clementi. He was found guilty on charges of invasion of privacy, but jurors found him not guilty on several charges of bias intimidation.

As WNYC reports, Ravi “could face 10 years in prison when he’s sentenced. He shook his head slightly after the verdicts were read.”

Sentencing has been scheduled for May 21.

Clementi took his own life in September 2011 by jumping from the George Washington Bridge. His brother, James Clementi, was present throughout the trial.

REVIEW – ‘Glee’ – ‘On My Way’ – Lets Talk About Suicide……..

I thought it worked well. I thought it was amazing to think the show has 6 gay characters now. Woo Hoo. I knew they were going to go there with Karofsky and I thought they handled his decision well. I thought Will admitting he had comtemplated suicide scene was misplaced. And stupidly missed out that whilst the present may seem bleak, there is a next day. Finn and Rachel making it all about themselves is actually a common off shot of suicide. I was fascinated how they were going to make us love Sebastian after he was so awful but this scene explained what a prick he was and why we would accept his change in behavior….

Very true scene. And love Sebastian so much. very sexy actor.

I thought the show rocked. I bawled my eyes out, and found many resonate truths in the writing, which has been missing from the show recently. I am also loving the addition of the Christian club. It reflects American schools now and is good to have that side included.

WATCH – New Zealand Needs To Talk About Suicide Honestly NOW.

http://www.pagesdigital.com/

Fucking love this guy and totally agree. When I tried ti top myself it was totally because i felt alone and had no control over my life. I could not see the next day. So so good of Ozzie rapper 360 for being this open about his life and actually being honest. This will actually help people, far more than a stupid ‘It gets Better’ at some unknown future fantasy date. They need to get through today, and knowing other people feel the same really helps. You rock 360.

Australian rapper 360 has broken away from his tough guy image to send a powerful message to young people around the country — “suicide is not the answer”.

The pain and suffering of the past year has spurned 360, whose real name is Matt Colwell, to make people realise the torment left behind when someone takes their life.

No Pardon For Alan Turing From British Government.

andrescaicedo.wordpress.com

A petition signed by over 21,000 people asked the UK Government to grant a pardon to Alan Turing. That request has now been declined.

In the UK and in many parts of the world a great deal is being made of the fact that this year, 2012, marks the 100th anniversary of Alan Turing.

But also this month the House of Lords declined to grant a posthumous pardon for the crime of gross indecency for which he was convicted in 1952. Not only was he forced to undergo chemical castration, his security clearance was then withdrawn and he was unable to work for continue his work for GCHQ, Britain’s intelligence agency.

Turing committed suicide two year’s later

An previous petition, organised by computer security expert and author, John Graham-Cumming in 2009 led to the then Prime Minister Gordon Brown issuing an unequivocal posthumous apology to Mr Turing on behalf of the Government, describing his treatment as “horrifying” and “utterly unfair”.

Gordon Brown also said his statement that the country owed him a huge debt and this helped to fuel the surge of attention that Turing’s life and work is currently receiving.

When Gordon Brown’s apology was included in the Channel 4 documentary celebrating Turing’s life and achievements broadcast in November 2011, a new petition was initiated asking for the UK government to consider granting a posthumous pardon to Alan Turing.
