So, Benedict Cumberpatch Is Playing __________ In ‘Star Trek 2 – NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

http://scifiempire.net/

Oh shit balls. One of the many things that excited me after J.J. Abrhams reboot of the ‘Star Trek’ franchise is they are in a different reality so can go totally off canon now and do what the hell they like with the characters and future. So the news that Benedict is playing Khan in ‘Star Trek 2′ made me scream………thusly……

What a shame. While it has not been officially confirmed, it seems true….

TrekMovie was first in reporting that Benedict Cumberbatch had joined the Star Trek sequel cast, to play a villain (originally a role offered to Benecio del Toro). A few outlets have also reported (including today’s AICN) that this villain was Trek’s most famous bad guy – the exiled Eugenics War leader Khan Noonien Singh (originally played by Ricardo Montalban). TrekMovie has also confirmed this with a number of sources so we no longer consider it to be a rumor. Khan is back in 2013, however sources indicate that the film is not a rehash of “Space Seed,” the original Star Trek episode where Kirk and crew first encounter the genetic superman from the past.

What a chicken. of course, still cannot wait to see it.

Trouble On ‘Human Centipede 3′ Set.

flixist.com

Still haven’t watched the first 2 films. I have little stomach for cruelty these days, and ‘The Serbian Film’ put me off ‘torturehorror’ for ever!

Human Centipede 3‘s June start has been imperiled by threats of litigation between director Tom Six and Dieter Laser, the villain from the first film who had agreed to return for the third film but is now backing out. If this goes to the courts, it is possible it could cause the film to be delayed indefinitely.

‘Muppets’ Gets Sequel – Jason Segel ‘Too Busy’ Too Participate?

http://www.flicksandbits.com/

HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

A deal has been reached with The Muppets director James Bobin and original co-writer Nicholas Stoller to pen a sequel, but insiders also tell us that Stoller’s original collaborator, Jason Segel, won’t be returning to the keyboard. Segel, a star of How I Met Your Mother — now in its eighth season — has a burgeoning film career, and Disney insiders tell Vulture that between his commitment to the CBS sitcom, his other feature-writing efforts, and promotional work for Five Year Engagement (due out this coming April) and Judd Apatow’s This Is Forty (in December), there won’t be time to collaborate on a Muppets sequel.

As you may or may not be aware, Sweden is not a state in the United States

Still No Script For ‘Wet, Hot American Summer 2′.

avclub.com

BOOOO. WANT IT NOW. REMINS ME TO TELL YOU THE STORY OF OPENING NIGHT OF THE INCREDIBLY STRANGE FILM FESTIVAL IN AUCKLAND WITH THIS FILM PLAYING AND DIRECTOR DAVID WAIN BEING SPECIAL GUEST. I PLAYED A GAY PORN STAR CALLED MOREPORK. WE HAD TECHNICAL ISSUES. BLESS TECH PEOPLE. WAS FUN.

Last night, Wet Hot American Summer star and co-writer Michael Showalter caused a brouhaha amongst fans of the 2001 camp comedy byannouncing on What Watch Happens Live that the much-talked-about sequel was “absolutely” happening. “The whole gang, everyone’s back, we’re doing it,” Showalter elaborated.

Alas, earlier today, Wet Hot actor Michael Ian Black told EW that the cast of the original film — which also included Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, Elizabeth Banks, and Paul Rudd, amongst others — aren’t packing for a return to Camp Firewood just yet.

“I’ve just talked to [Michael Showalter],” Black revealed. “I said, ‘You caused a little bit of a stir when you said that.’ He said, ‘Yes, I know.’ It’snot true. It’s not not true. But he made it sound like the movie was in pre-production and it’s not. Everybody is basically on board to do it and he and David Wain (Wet Hot director and co-writer) have been working on a script and hopefully it’ll happen. But it’s not locked into place or anything.”
