Tony Veitch is set to host a new Saturday afternoon sport programme on Newstalk ZB.
Featuring in depth sporting interviews, analysis and opinion, “Veitch On Saturday” will air 12pm through 6pm from March 31st.
Veitch will also host another new programme, the “Sport Power Hour” on Newstalk ZB, Sunday mornings 8am-9am.
“After a highly successful year hosting Radio Sport breakfast, I am excited Tony has accepted the further challenge of hosting two of Newstalk ZB’s flagship sport programmes,” says Dallas Gurney, general manager of talk programming.
So, Should Tony Vietch Be On Any Station Apart From ‘Radio Sport?’
So, was driving around Auckland this week and who should come up doing the news but Vietch. God, it gave me pause.
When it was ‘announced’ that he would be back on \\Radio Sport we all kinda ignored it as who the fuck listens to niche crap anyway?
But hearing him doing News Reading on a highly rated station, it was gross.
So the stores coming out about people not wanting to work with the fuck are hardly surprising, but gives one hope there is still some class in the industry.
Don’t want to hear that dull little man on air.
But certainly not on a ‘REAL’ station.
Use him on the smaller stations, if you must, Radio Works, but to push the piece of shit man on the major channels will just make problems for yourself, Dallas Gurney.
God, Bill Francis, your job is over now. Fuck Off. The promises you made in the past cannot be lived up too.

Well, what do you say? Everyone sad at the tme he just had to keep hs head down and he would return. And he has. Kinda leaves a foul taste in my mouth.

Radio Sport will roll out a number of changes in the new year, including the re-introduction of Tony Veitch in its popular breakfast slot.
“D’Arcy Waldegrave will be moving from breakfast to the late-afternoon drivetime programme, and this provides an opportunity for Tony to host the show after nearly a year of sports-news presenting and back-up sports hosting with Newstalk ZB and Radio Sport,” said Dallas Gurney, general manager of talk programming for The Radio Network (TRN).
“Tony is a quality sports presenter and we are very pleased to be able to give him this opportunity to host the breakfast programme again,” said Gurney. “He is the natural choice.”
Veitch left Radio Sport’s breakfast in July 2008, but made a return to TRN at the beginning of this year.
“Tony has worked hard to re-establish himself, and has been well accepted,” said Dallas Gurney.
Tony Veitch commented: “For me, starting again on the breakfast programme represents a new challenge and I look forward to creating a fresh show in 2011.
“I can’t wait to begin this next chapter in my life. I’m very grateful to The Radio Network.”
Tony Veitch will be making no further comment.
