: Al Pacino is looking to portray another oversized personality: music icon Phil Spector.

The afro-haired record producer was known for creating the “wall of sound” in the 1960s and is currently serving a prison sentence of 19 years for murder.

HBO Films will be making the TV project from a David Mamet script. Pacino had a great run with HBO this year after winning an Emmy for his portrayal of Dr. Jack Kevorkian in Barry Levinson’s “You Don’t Know Jack.” Levinson is set to produce the Spector film.

Spector, 70, was convicted of second-degree murder last year after allegedly shooting aspiring actress Lana Clarkson in his mansion.

Spector cut his teeth in the ‘50s with a string of hits. He also mixed the unfinished tapes of the Beatles’ last album “Let It Be.”
