Oh dear. Where to start???? Why does he have an issue with people thinking ‘gays run around with handbags?’ As a Kiwi, that image makes me think of All Black assault and Tana Umanga hitting his fellow player with a hand bag in a Christchurch pub. I have no idea why Mr Gay World has issues with handbags. Nor why he wants to end that image ‘in peoples minds about gays with handbags’? Does he think all gay men should act butch now? If you are a gay man with a handbag, are you a bad gay? Are you a lesser gay because you have a handbag? What is he trying to say about gay behaviour? And what should be changed about it? Kevin Sessums follows up with Cynthia Nixon, who made headlines recently for telling the NYT’s Alex Witchel that for her, being gay “is a choice”. Sessums asks about her previous 15-year relationship with a man, and her current relationship with Christine Marinoni:
I’m a bit confused. Were you a lesbian in a heterosexual relationship? Or are you now a heterosexual in a lesbian relationship? That quote seemed like you were fudging a bit.
It’s so not fudging. It’s so not. I think for gay people who feel 100 percent gay, it doesn’t make any sense. And for straight people who feel 100 percent straight, it doesn’t make any sense. Nixon then repeats the assertion that it’s fine to say homosexuality is her choice, because to say it’s not a choice would be caving to the bigots:
I understand for political reasons why some people want to kind of squelch this idea that being gay might be a choice, because a lot of the rights we want are posited on the supposition that why are you denying me my rights any more than if I were created a different color? But I don’t feel the need to cede the definition of what a gay person is to the bigots. They don’t get to define who I am.
Gag Order Silences Parents of 6 Year Old Boy Charged With Sexual Assault for Playing Doctor.

WISC-TV, the CBS affiliate in Madison, reports that Grant County, Wisconsin, District Attorney Lisa Riniker, who charged a 6-year-old boy with first-degree sexual assault becaused he played doctor with a 5-year-old girl, has obtained a gag order that prohibits his parents, who have sued Riniker and two other county officials, from talking about the case. Iowa County Judge Bill Dyke issued the order last Monday, forcing the boy’s parents to cancel a planned interview with WISC. The station spoke instead with their lawyers, who are not covered by the order:
“That behavior by a prosecutor is outrageous,”
said Christopher Cooper, an attorney for the boy’s parents….
“She [Riniker] bypassed the parents and sent a 6-year-old boy a summons, on which is a threat that the 6-year-old will go to jail for failure to appear,” Cooper said.
The attorneys said they have sought the opinion of many experts who said that children “playing doctor” is not a sex crime.
“[The experts say] a 6-year-old child is unable to intellectually and emotionally associate sexual gratification with the act that D has been accused of committing,” Cooper said….
Repeated calls to Riniker and an attorney for [her] and two co-defendants have gone unanswered since Friday, WISC-TV reported.

llinois attorneys Christopher Cooper and David Sigale represent the 6-year-old and his parents and said that Grant County’s Social Services Departmant “maintains customs, policies, and practices that caused harm to Plaintiff ‘D’”. “D” is used in place of the young boy’s name.
The suit claims that a game between three children should have been handled between parents — not the law, adding that in spite of “D’s” claim that he was touched wrongly by the 5-year-old, that child faced no charges because he was the son of a prominent Grant County official.

A Pukekohe High School 15-year-old was held down and violated with a vehicle part after it was revealed he planned to move to a private boarding school.
The Herald understands the boy was assaulted behind the school gym after a group of boys surrounded him during a break, saying things like, “If you’re going to King’s [College] you deserve this sort of thing” and “This is what you will get in boarding school.”
Pukekohe principal Ian McKinnon confirmed a serious incident occurred 13 days ago after a joke between a group of friends about the boy moving school “went too far”.
“The incident involved a male student who was held by others and who was then assaulted.
“Whilst what took place may well have started out as a joke among a group who knew each other, its outcome was far from that.
It was very upsetting for the victim and for a number of students in the area, many of them friends of the victim.”
Mr McKinnon would not comment on whether a sexual violation had occurred, saying that was “the nature of the police investigation”.
He did, however, classify what happened as “gross misconduct” and said the other students had been excluded – meaning they cannot return to Pukekohe College and must be enrolled somewhere else.
