VERY GOOD GET FOR MAORI TV.

Maori Television today announced that award-winning journalist Mihingarangi Forbes will join the channel early this year as a producer for its daily news programme, TE KAEA.

Forbes recently resigned from her position as a reporter for TV3’s flagship current affairs programme, Campbell Live, where in 2008 she won a Qantas Award for ‘best reporter for daily current affairs’.

Before this, Forbes produced stories for TVNZ’s 20/20 programme and won a Qantas Award for ‘The Lillybing Story’ with journalist Amanda Millar.

Maori Television General Manager of News and Current Affairs Te Anga Nathan says he is delighted Forbes will join the channel.

“Mihingarangi brings with her a wealth of news and current affairs reporting experience and has a reputation for breaking stories. We’re delighted to have her producing our daily news bulletin TE KAEA and being part of our team,” says Mr Nathan.

“TE KAEA is keen to replicate the feats of our current affairs show, NATIVE AFFAIRS, which won an AFTA for best overall current affairs programme in 2011. TE KAEA viewers can expect a new look and approach in the months to come as we strive to continue our solid coverage of news reporting.”

NOT SURPRISED. I WATCHED THE OPENING ON MAORI TV AND THEY WERE REALLY GOOD. NO P HEADS SHOUTING HOW GREAT IT ALL WAS AND HOW FABULOUS THE ATMOSPHERE WAS AND HOW ELECTRIC THE EVENING WAS AS OTHER CHANNELS WENT WITH………….

More New Zealanders than ever before tuned into Maori Television during coverage of the weekend’s Rugby World Cup action.

Maori TV said Saturday’s live coverage of the England v Argentina game – called by Te Arahi Maipi, Gavin Hastings and former All Black Kees Meeuws – set a new record for the channel, and was the most watched Rugby World Cup 2011 game on any channel that day.

The average audience of 402,260 viewers was three times as large as the predicted viewership for the game.

Maori Television followed it up on Sunday night with its second largest audience ever of 353,840 viewers for the live clash between South Africa and Wales, called by Maipi, Hastings and veteran sports broadcaster Keith Quinn.

Why Did The ‘Rise Up’ Christchurch Telethon Get Hijacked By Fonterra>

kilimanjaronz.com

Did anyone else watch it? As soon as Julian Wilcox started the day dressed in a fucking suit I knew we were in trouble. Like the awful TV3 telethon last year, this years was wayyyyyyyy too over scripted and controlled. The whole idea of telethon is to see TV people in a different fun night, loosen the bra straps and jusy ley stuff happen and be loose. No chance of any fan escaping during the very dry 12 hours.
Martin Henderson had the idea with challenges in LA, but here there was little of that, and the whole ‘Dancing with the Stars’ dance off was kinda last century. Ma’a can move well.
The Sydney crosses were great with Glenn Osbourne and Benji Marshall having a wicked time. Then cut back to a couch here and more DULLNE$SS.

But letting Fonterra, this countries great polluter have some serious on screen time to push their corporate agenda, even having the CEO on to say how great they were and how much money they raised just made me want to chunder.
A dull day full of missed opportunities……….
Nothing against CHCH, as moron Fonterra employees tried to accuse me of. Just very bad, hijacked TV.

And didn’t this song get on ya tits by the end…………….
