He just tweeted the news………

Guilded Lilys is a no. ABC not picking it up. disappointed but very proud of the work we did. Jb

Was from Shondra Rhimes so may have been crap. It sounded like an attempt at an American ‘Downton Abbey’.

The story revolves around the Lily family, who open a luxurious New York hotel, and the people who work there. Bolger’s character Violet is set to marry Charlie (Lauria) but she instead falls in love with a poor ship’s servant whose personality apparently makes up for his empty wallet. Charlie is also in business with Violet’s father, to be played by Brian F. O’Byrne, so it would seem a decision to break the engagement might have dire consequences. It sounds like high drama all around, all with a period setting that seems aimed at the Downton Abbey audience, right down to including the servants in the plot.

John Barrowman Finds Life After ‘Torchwood’ – ‘Gilded Lilies’ This Fall.

While the fate of Torchwood seems maybe dead at this point, we may be seeing John Barrowman back on television soon enough, should things go well for the Shonda Rhimes executive-produced ABC pilot Gilded Lilys.

Written by K.J. Steinberg, Gilded Lilys is set in 1895 and follows the drama taking place as New York’s first luxury hotel is about to open. TV Guide shared the casting news, stating that Barrowman will play Julius Ashford Lily, a member of the central family in the story.

Captain Jack Talks Possibility Of NO ‘Torchwood – Season 5′.

In an interview in RTE Guide with John Barrowman also known as Capt Jack from Torchwood and Dr Who. He mentioned that he was not sure what is going on with Torchwood. His exact words from that article was this

“If there’s a pause button, we’ve pushed the pause button now because we don’t know what’s happening”, he says. “I would love to do a new series and I will play Captain Jack as long as they want me to play Captain Jack, but it’s in limbo at the moment and beyond my control.”

He also mentioned that he would love to see it on the big screen ;

“I think that Torchwood, more so than Doctor Who, lends itself to being a big film because it’s more adult”

A MOVIE WOULD BE PERFECT.

Has ‘Torchwood’ Been Cancelled?

SOUNDS LIKE IT, JUST FOUND THIS ON FAN SITE kasterborous.com………

Certainly from what we’ve heard recently, all but an official axe has swung across this particular televisual element of the Whoniverse, with Starz not taking an option on a second series. Meanwhile the BBC seems reluctant to talk about the matter. Miracle Day was a co-production between Starz, BBC Worldwide and BBC Wales, so hearing anything from the broadcaster in the UK seems unlikely at the moment.

(Prior to Miracle Day being announced, similar noises were also made. Things can change very quickly in television production, it seems, although this time things seem quite “final”.)

YA KNOW, ‘MIRACLE DAY’ LOST SO MUCH OF THE ESSENCE OF WHAT ‘TORCHWOOD’ IS ABOUT, THIS NEWS SADDENS ME, BUT DOES NOT MAKE ME WANT TO START A ‘SAVE TORCHWOOD’ CAMPAIGN. ONLY THE WRITERS COULD DO THAT BY MAKING THE SHOW ABOUT HUMANS AGAIN. AND KILLING REX. SO ALWAYS A BUMMER TO HAVE ONE LESS GOOD TV SHOW TO WATCH, BUT IF IT DOES COME BACK, IT NEEDS SINGLE EPISODE STORIES AND HEART BACK AS WELL.
