One week ago, Italian journalist and TV star Gianluigi Nuzzi released a book called His Holiness: The Secret Papers of Pope Benedict XVI, which became an instant-best seller in Italy’s bookstors and seriously angered the Holy See. It was a tell-all, delivering the goods on Catholic fiscal impropriety, the covering up of Catholic fiscal impropriety, priestly boyfriends, and the headaches of dealing with the endless rolling scandal that is the American Catholic Church. Notably, the Vatican hasn’t denied the book’s authenticity, though it does claim its publication was illegal.
Nuzzi had been releasing his Catholic dirt and dribs and drabs for a year on his television show, The Untouchables, causing a rising tide of panic in the Vatican. And the information unearthed got weirder and uglier with every episode. By May, his spelunking in the oubliettes of Catholic rumor and secrecy had caused the Italian police to exhume the body of a feared mobster who’d been (for some uncertain reason) buried in the Holy See, right next to the Opus Dei HQ. In the mobster’s tomb, police hoped to find the remains of a 15-year-old named Emanuela Orlandi who went missing three decades ago, perhaps because her dad had some dirt on a Cardinal. (Many bodies were found in the tomb; DNA testing ought to reveal whose they are or aen’t sometime soon.)
Well — when His Holiness came out, His Holiness decided he wasn’t going to stand for Nuzzi’s prying any longer. He bid three of his toughest Opus Dei goons to stop all Vatican leaks immediately. Which they did. The presumed leaker has been identified. He was Pope’s butler and personal attendant, Paolo Gabriele.

Gabriele, who has worked as the papal butler since 2006, is one of only a handful of people with access to the pontiff’s private desk.

My Gods, the ‘Herald on Sunday’ is bi-polar. For the last several years whilst self loather Rachel Glacouma has been doing ‘Spy’, their cheap and always nasty gossip insert, they would have had us believe sally ridge was a shit mother with a huge sexual appetite and no morals and a shit life. Every piece written on the lady was nasty and full of innuendo and cruelty. Now that the cutter has been moved to write about politicians for the weekday Herald, which just shows how disgusting Granny herald has become it allows that creature to write about politics like she has a clue, suddenly ‘Spy’ seems to love Sally. They had a story about how Kiwis are chomping at the bit to watch her show. It seems strange as their view for the last decade has been that Sally is a disgusting cunt. Seems strange now they are singing her praises and are convinced the country want her show. Here are the best bits of mindreading from whatever hack ‘writes’ for them now……

One online story on Sally and Jaime Ridge’s proposed reality show attracted a staggering 600 comments, irrefutable proof that people do care – one way or the other.
My guess is that the show will go ahead. Reality TV is a ratings winner, and Sally and Jaime are lightning rods for everything that we love/hate about contemporary celebrity culture.
My advice to TV3 is to strike while the iron is hot. Green means go!
I know tabloids are rather new in New Zealand, but could the editors and writers for the ‘H.O.S.’ remember that when you hate someone, and especially when you pour such vitriol and hate on her for years, the ‘Road to Damascus’ change does not work nor is believable.

Granny Herald needs to get over the strange obsession it is having with Keisha. She is an actor, not a reality TV star and this hounding is getting out of hand. They seem to have some strange set of expectations for her, which I have never seen her buy into, with any ‘role model’ nonsense, nor ever having set herslef up as one whose behaviour should be followed. And Gods, who hasn’t got falling down drunk at the Oscar party in Auckland. Well, actually, we have no idea in reality what state she was in. No link to their rapey story here. Quoting AA as what is expected from her is total bullshit. AA maybe for some people, but as keisha has left the ‘cult like programme’, it obviously did not work for her. Maybe she did not want to give her personal power up to a ‘higher power’. I found that, and many aspects of AA unusable in my life.
