The most flamboyant, fabulous and glitter-dripping night of the year is all set for Easter Sunday where Wellington will crown its Next Top Drag Queen for 2013.
Expect amazing outfits, glamorous wigs and succulent fake titties. Event organizer Mr Wilson says “We have been inundated with interest from all over the Wellington region including as far away as Upper Hutt. The talent will be some of the best yet I can assure you!” The eccentric and much-loved Steve Gray will host the evening’s proceedings. Judging this year is Golden Stiletto Award Winner Miss Kola, Weta Workshop’s stylist to the stars Madison Parks and Wellington’s legendary drag matriarch Amandah La Whore.
This year’s format is slightly different. You are invited to meet the contestants and judges between 8-9pm with complimentary nibbles and FREE bubbles for the first 50 people to arrive. Doors open from 7pm with the show commencing at 9pm. Venue capacity is limited so arrive early to avoid tears.
Prizes include $250 cash, $250 Ivy Bar tab and more! Participants even get free bubbles all night just for taking part. Think you or your drag friend might have what it takes to be Wellington’s Next Top Drag Queen? Please register your interest to greig@thegardenclub.co.nz.
Fans were treated to a surprise appearance by season two runner-up Ali Stroker in this week’s Glee (4×14 – I Do) in her brilliant portrayal of Emma’s niece Betty. As well as this, after the end of the show Ali entered into a (very, very cute) relationship with fellow contestant Dani Shay.
