New ‘Spartacus’ Walks Out On Half Completed Film ‘Frozen Moments’.
Damn, got this from the Producer/Director with no comment attached, so will just post and let you draw the obvious conclusion…..
Liam McIntyre has pulled out of the feature thriller film ‘Frozen Moments’ which was scheduled to finish shooting this October 2011.
McIntyre had committed to the project prior to becoming the new face for Starz Networks ‘Spartacus’ series which is currently being filmed in Auckland, New Zealand.
Craig Newland the Producer/Director is understood to be looking at ‘all options’ as a result of McIntyre backing out.
“You certainly don’t expect something like this to happen especially when part of the film has been shot and we were willing to work around the Spartacus schedule and to be as accommodating as we could possibly be”, Newland said.
“There are a lot of upset people right now that believed in Liam, who now feel extremely disappointed and hurt by his decision. There was an enormous amount of work that went into the scenes that were filmed last year especially the abduction scene the biggest scene of the movie which will now have to be re-shot. I’m now focussed on finding a replacement to step into the lead role”, Newland said.
Frozen Moment’s was to be McIntyre’s first feature film as a leading man, which is set in San Francisco but mostly shot in Sydney.
Newland recently returned from this years Cannes Film Festival where pre-sales for Frozen Moments had been offered, “Obviously we need to now look at where this leaves us for distribution which was looking strong in key markets”.
Tacky.
