Well, whilst Travyon was getting all the attention, this has been ignored. glad charges have finally been laid. sad, cruel case. calling something ‘hazing’ does not excuse the behavior. Especially if it is criminal.
Five months after Florida A&M University drum major Robert Champion Jr. died following a pummeling by fellow members of the marching band, 13 people have been charged in his death.
The death of the 26-year-old Champion, who was gay, has brought about a focus on college hazing rituals. The beating took place aboard a chartered bus parked outside of a Orlando hotel after a performance.
Eleven are charged with hazing resulting in death which is a felony. Two others face misdemeanor charges. The felony and misdemeanor offenses could result in nearly six years in prison if convicted.
More serious charges of second-degree murder and manslaughter were not pursued.
‘I thought it should send a harsher message,’ the victim’s mother, Pam Champion, said in an interview with CNN after the charges were announced.

Well, people have been theorizing for awhile that Anderson may finally come out of the closet to give his shitfest daytime talk show ‘Anderson’ a much needed ratings boost…….

If not for a distribution deal that gives its syndicator, Telepictures Productions, what it considers more desirable network slots in cities like New York, Houston and Orlando, Fla., next season, some in the industry question whether “Anderson” would have survived.
I seriously do not expect Anderson to come out of the closet during my life time. But, he may surprise me and learn class. And self belief. And that living openly and honestly is the only healthy way to live.
