Mum, you lived a full and varied life after we all left home, flying, sailing, travelling around the world – and we hope you were happy but what wonderful family memories you have missed out on. You lost your way in being a mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and sister. You filled your life with people we never met but we were there for you in the end. WITNESS – The Many Dead Children Of Syria.

I really hope these images of murdered children actually get some activity to protect the citizens of Syria. But as there is no oil there, I shall not hold my breath.

At least 32 children were reportedly among the more than 90 people slaughtered by Syrian military forces in the village of Houla on Saturday.

A 718-page digital document obtained by Mother Jones contains names, phone numbers, neighborhoods, and alleged activities of thousands of dissidents apparently targeted by the Syrian government. Three experts asked separately by Mother Jones to examine the document—essentially a massive spreadsheet, whose contents are in Arabic—say they believe that it is authentic. As Bashar al-Assad’s military continues a deadly crackdown on dissent inside the country, the list appears to confirm in explicit detail the scale of the regime’s domestic surveillance and its methodical efforts to destroy widespread opposition.
