Oh for fucks sake, theatre Gods, please give me strength.
Do you hear the people sing? Well if you haven’t yet then you will soon, because according to Daily Mail, the cast of the Academy Award nominated LES MISERABLES will be performing at the Oscars this February. The song that will be performed is still undecided, but rumors are circulating that it will likely be either be a medley, or one of the ensemble numbers such as ‘One Day More’ or ‘Do You Hear The People Sing.’
‘One More Day’ featuring people who can sing.
The film ‘version’.
SOME I SAW AT THE TIME. SOME I KNEW FROM LEGEND AND TRACKED DOWN AND WATCHED WHEN I COULD FIND THEM. ALL ARE REAL. FIND THE CONTEXT YOURSELF, ESPECIALLY FOR THE HYPOCRISY OF THE CHARLIE CHAPLIN STANDING OVATION. HOW SOON THEY FORGET.
ALWAY RUTH TO START. SHE WAS 72. FUCK, SHE LOOKED GREAT.
WHY SHE WON.
HOW ANNOYED I WAS WITH MY FIRST SWEEP IN 1975 THAT I HAD NOT SEEN THE FILM. BEING ONLY 10, AND AS THE FILM WAS R18 IN NZ I WAS NOT ALLOWED. I SO LOVED LOUISE FLETCHER’S SPEECH. I WAS OBSESSED WITH HELEN KELLER AND WHEN SHE SIGNED I BURST INTO TEARS TO SEE SIGN ON TV. IT DID NOT HAPPEN OFTEN. SHE IS A WONDERFUL ACTOR.
THIS JUST IN FROM TMZ. WHY NOT GET SOMEONE WITH TV EXPERIENCE???
Brian Grazer — who produced “Apollo 13″ and “A Beautiful Mind” — has taken Brett Ratner’s place to produce next year’s Academy Awards show.
Brian signed on moments ago, agreeing to replace Ratner just one day after the “Rush Hour” director resigned …. following uproar over a homophobic slur Ratner dropped at a film screening.
Academy prez Tom Sherak announced Grazer’s appointment this afternoon.
Interestingly, Grazer is listed as a producer on “Tower Heist” — a film directed by Brett Ratner and starring Eddie Murphy, who resigned as the Oscars host just hours ago.
