This film had a tiny release in the cinemas’ in NZ. It played only in Auckland, and then only for a week before being pulled. The people involved should be up on criminal charges, as the film is a fantastic and one of the best ‘new romance’ films in years.
Nothing huge happens in the film, it follows Nick and Norah after they first meet and then we watch their friendship develop into something more. Michael Cera and Kat Dennings are great as the leads, bringing a real honesty and realism to the characters that are seldom seen in films about people falling in love. There friends are also very engaging and bring another level of realism to the film.
If you are one of those people who usually hate ‘love’ stories, or ‘coming of age’ stories, then this really is the film for you. Funny and charming, this really is one of the best films I have seen in years.
