‘American Horror Story’ Casting News – Angela Bassett, Patti LuPone Join Season 3′s Coven

Oscar-nominated actress Angela Bassett and Broadway legend Patti LuPone are joining the cast of American Horror Story: Coven, the witch-themed third chapter of FX’s hit spookfest. AHS cocreator Ryan Murphy announced the news on Twitter early Sunday. She joins returning AHS fixtures Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Frances Conroy and Taissa Farmiga, in addition to fellow newbies Gabourey Sidibe and Oscar winner Kathy Bates.
Coven will mark the first time AHS will go on the road and shoot on location. (The Harmon House and asylum interiors of Seasons 1 and 2 were sets on a studio.) “The fun thing is researching what are the really haunted places in America, and we have a couple doozy locales,” Murphy revealed at Paley Fest last month.
