The Ukraine Still Bashing Up Gay People – Will Elton John And Adam Lambert be Next?

I do wonder if Elton John and the money grubbing members of Queen, (not Lambert, he is just talent for hire for these ‘gigs’), have any idea of the reality of life for Gay people in the Ukraine? I wonder if they will address the treatment of gay people in the region? I wonder if they realize the Ukrainian authorities are killing their poorer citizens with drugs? I wonder if Elton and the members of Queen will take any political action, but as Elton and the members of Queen have in the past showed time and time again they care about little except money. AND THE FACT THEY THEN GO ON TO PLAY IN RUSSIA, WHICH HAS JUST BANNED ANY GAY PRIDE MARCHES FOR 100 YEARS AND PASSED THE ‘NO GAY PROPAGANDA’ BILL, SHOWS THAT ELTON JOHN and the members of queen care only about money.
A leading Ukrainian gay rights activist says he was hospitalized after being beaten during an apparent hate attack in the country’s capital, Kyiv.
Taras Karasiychuk, a top member of Gay Forum, said Saturday he sustained a concussion and a fractured jaw during the attack Thursday by a group of unidentified assailants, who screamed homophobic insults at him.
Police said Saturday an investigation is under way.
The incident comes a month after another violent attack on a member of the gay community caused an international outcry.

Queen + Elton are not making money at this concert. Its a benefit concert and they said they were donating their proceeds. I was at SF Pride and Adams concert yesterday when I saw this tweet but couldn’t open it. I am surprised that you would send out a headline that appears designed for hits. Yes the Ukraine situation is fucked up and much needs to be done. I think that Elton’s, Adams and Queens presence and performance will do more to create positive for people to relate to than boycotting ever could. I think it is brave of them to go into that venue of hate and hope security is sufficient. As far as Bashing I think there is really no place that is safe. Bashing Gays, raping and equivalent hate violence is happening everywhere. As gay performers the best think they can do is be present and proud.

maybe read again, my point is will elton and brian actually take the opportunity to address the real situation for gay people, but especially drug users who are hiv + in the ukraine. and, of course the ukraine is also about to introduce the ban the gay propaganda legislation. and my point is WILL THEY? politically these 2 men have showed themselves to be politically naive at best, and have made appalling decicions. my intention was not to garner hits, it is to draw attention to the reality of life for glt in the ukraine and the larger russian area. I do this as they will maybe not?
