And this is not the first time this has happened. It seems if you say something is ‘apart of your religion’ you get away with sucking blood from a babies penis? I mean, what the hell? Good luck orthodox Jews explaining why the motel needs to suck the blood off the babies penis with his mouth!!!!!!
New York City is investigating the death last September of a baby who contracted herpes after a “ritual circumcision with oral suction,” in an ultra-Orthodox Jewish ceremony known in Hebrew as metzitzah b’peh.
In a practice that takes place during a ceremony known as the bris, a circumcision practitioner, or mohel, removes the foreskin from the baby’s penis, and with his mouth sucks the blood from the incision to cleanse the wound.
The district attorney’s office in Kings County Brooklyn is investigating the death of the 2-week-old baby at Maimonides Hospital, but would not disclose the name of the mohel or whether there would be a prosecution.
“We are looking into it, that’s all I can say,” a D.A. source told ABCNews.com.
The 5,000-year-old religious practice is seen primarily in ultra-Orthodox and some orthodox communities and has caused an alarm among city health officials. In 2003 and 2004, three babies, including a set of twins, were infected with Type 1 herpes; the cases were linked to circumcision, and one boy died.
The mohel who performed the procedures, Yitzchok Fischer, was later banned from doing circumcisions, according to The New York Times. It is not known if he was involved in this recent death.

Herpes virus is so widespread – not just HSV1 and HSV2 which are the cause of herpes sores in mouths and on genitals. There is the Epstein Barr Virus (glandular fever), which is also from the herpes family, and CMV, as well as shingles and chicken pox. Until this, I hadn’t heard that HSV can kill, but doing a search shows that, in Canada, approximately 5.9 per 100,000 births acquire HSV at or close to birth. There were 58 cases reported in that year, and of that 58, 9 (15.5%) died as a result of the virus.
Forgot … there are so many other things that can be passed on by the mouth in saliva. HepB, syphilis, etc., spring to mind. What on earth makes them think saliva is “sterile”? Maybe it’s no something on earth, maybe it’s their god. Another illusion/delusion finding yet another way of killing children.
Saliva does have hygienic elements to it…but using that argument a dogs mouth is more sterile than a humans….soooooo….
As for herpes we all have the virus by the time where 61 (fact) most of us contract this when young, it’s just bingo as to whether we show outward symptoms or not… like those who get cold sores and those who don’t.. we all go it.
Herpes is officially the most successful biological presence on the planet…Scary!
