The “Glee” star has signed a two-book deal with Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. The deal will see his original adventure series, “The Land of Stories” hitting shelves next summer.

“When I was 10-years-old, I promised myself that if I ever had the opportunity to write this book, I would jump at the chance,” Colfer says. “This book has been at the core of my imagination for a long time and I’m excited and nervous to share it.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “The Land of Stories” will target readers between 8 and 12-years-old, telling the story of twins Alex and Connor Bailey as they face a modern world laced with fairytales.

The Emmy winning actor has also been busy scripting the Disney Channel pilot, “The Little Leftover Witch,” as well as an independent feature titled “Struck by Lightning.”

“Chris is a remarkable talent whose writing combines all the qualities kids love — memorable characters, heart pounding adventure, in a setting filled with wonder, intrigue and enchantment,” Little, Brown senior vp and publisher says.
